Metal the way it ought to be.

In the beginning:
“We should do a band project together.”

Being friends and mutual fans of each other’s music and guitar playing, a new band was formed out of a conversation Nick Layton and Paul Kleff had in early 2010. The two shared many guitar and musical influences and immediately started to lay the groundwork and musical vision for a new band.

Without having a full band put together yet, Paul and Nick began writing music together for the yet unnamed band. Heavy, melodic and powerful music with an emphasis on great songs with killer guitars was the plan. The ultimate goal was to have a band that made the kind of music that they would want to listen to and an album that they would want to buy.

As the writing progressed, the focus shifted to finding the right voice for the music. A heavy, melodic and powerful voice that would not only fit the style of music that was being created, but would also be able to take the rough songs and turn them into world-class melodic metal.

One name kept coming up over and over again—veteran rock/metal vocalist David Fefolt.

Some phone calls were made, rough tracks were sent over, and David was immediately on board as the voice and front man of the band—“I think between us we could make something really special out of this.”

The FireWolfe was born.

A Music Professor of classical and jazz studies at the Governor School for the Performing Arts, Bucknell University. Tour and record with the band Third Stream. Recording engineer, Producer and Mastering engineer at Abbeville Road recording studio. Member of the Electricians Union, Musicians Union, ASCAP & BMI. Attended: Anderson Conservatory where I studied music composition, arranging and jazz improv. Graduate courses at Rutgers consisted of jazz guitar performance, improvisation and composition under the auspices of Ted Dunbar. Studied with Pat Martino.

Michael grew up in So. California, started writing lyrics at age 9 and sang in school choir, started playing guitar at age 15 but didn't get serious till age 19.Started playing in bands in the LA. OC. area of California in the 80's & 90's , took a break from music for 5 years till 2005. Currently writes and records from home, collaborates with musicians and just has fun playing and recording.

All artists and listeners who donate get a special emblem on their profiles where they will proudly show that they support Indie Music works. All supporting artists and listeners have their own tab under "Listeners and also Artists" where folks can see who helps the site out.

Hey what the heck is DJ download and exactly how does it work?

The DJ Download feature was added to the site so that artists could still get radio airplay on the live Indie Music Works radio shows who did not want their tracks available for the general public to download.

On the create or edit song screen select "yes" for "DJ Download" and then in the "HiFi Listener Access" drop down box select "Streaming + Downloading".

This will set the track so that only the IMW DJ's can see it's available for download and also download the track. To the ordinary listener or artist the track will not be available for download still so your music is still protected.

We want to play your music and it's a free way to market your tracks. Help us help you to promote your music!

You've heard some of the great promos that some of the artists on Indie Music Works have made right?

If you have some time and the ability to record a mp3 promo we're looking for some new ones to add to what we have so far. Generic promos that any of the DJ's could use would be greatly appreciated.

Even though an IPHONE will play the HIFI Winamp link on the site without any issues it doesn't show the song title information.

There are several applications for the IPHONE if you go to "applications" on your phone and search on "Shoutcast" you will see there are many.

I've included 2 of them here. One only plays lofi, that is the first one mentioned here and then the second one plays both hifi and lofi. I've tried both of them and they seem to work out well and both are free though I think the second application will soon become a pay application but is free over the memorial day weekend but currently we feel this is the best application of the two.

There is a Shoutcast radio application out for IPHONE that seems to work very well and does stream the titles and lets you do other things while the music streams in the background.

Once the application is loaded on your IPHONE then do a search for Indie Music Works and the station will come up, save it as a favorite and you are all set, you can listen to IMW radio anywhere - anytime!

Here is another application that you can search for that will also play the hifi stream and titles: Tunemark just click on applications on your IPHONE and do a search on Tunemark. It's currently a free application and works very well.
