Hey Jim, like the melody in this track, reading some of the other comments here on this page. I like the playing on this but I do agree about the drums, the kick sounds like more of "metal" type kick. The song is excellent as I like your music. Thanks for posting this one was nice to see a new one from you... Walt

I can see what Brian is saying about the drums but it sounds to me like the kick drum just needs to come down in volume and needs to be panned in the centre. Unless I'm mistaken it was off to the left and was a lot louder than the snare? Anyway I also agree with brian on the composition, vocals and guitar playing. As always, a pleasure to hear a new song from you Jim.

This is a really lovely song, Jim. THe guitar work and the vocals are really top drawer, and I particularly like the phrasing of the lyrics. Got to admit though that I found the drum track a bit distracting when it came in. The guitar and the delivery of the lyrics before that had their own momentum that really worked well and I personally thought the drums cut across that. I think it would work with drums, but may more subtle drums, and maybe even brushes rather than the somewhat heavy snare and tom hits. But that aside (and I know nothing about drums anyway) I really lovely song. Congrats Cheers Brian

The signature JRS elements are all there. The crisp acoustic guitars, the storytelling, the nautical references and the excellent vocals and harmonies. On this one there is something in the mix that sounds just a little out of place to me. Maybe the volume fluctuations in the electric guitar parts don't always seem to fit but apart from that anothet great tune. Just joined the 21st century and got myself an iPOD. Your tracks are all going on it for sure.

Yes, a very nice tune. I like such songs a lot. What I don't really like is the arrangement and the mix. It sounds too artificial/thin/liveless IMO. If I were you I'd put this up for collaboration. This can become a killer tune. :) Regards, Steffen

Great tune, great vocals, great guitar. But extremely poor drums again. :D I'm tempted to rate this a 4 because of the terrible drums, but the song is so great, I must make it a 4.5 and round it up to 5. :D Regards, Steffen

Again, the acoustic on this is mixed really well. I like the sound of it tone is just right on it for this track. The solo at the begining fits right in and isn't over powering the acoustic, I like that part of the mix. Nice intro and lead in to the first verse also. Again your vocal track is nice and crisp on this, I would like to have heard the percussion and vocals up slightly more in this but then I wonder if it may be too much that way with and step on the or slightly bury the acoustic in the track. I like the way the electric is panned in the track sounds slightly to the right on my system that seems to work well and keeps a nice balance in the track. Very nice track, again thanks for posting this and sharing it. Now the solo towards the end of the track seems to be more in the center and suits the ending well.

Hey Jim the production on this track is really outstanding. Like the nice full sound to this. Everything is quite clear in the mix. Vocals and harmonies are nice a crisp and clear and up front where they belong. Just enough bass on this to carry it along. Very nice job I really like this one from you, thanks so much for posting.
