Our provider has had a major server issue and it's going to take some time for them to get everything back on line.

There is nothing I can do on this end in order fix anything. There are several sites on the shared server and they are doing their best.

The server crashed due to human error and downtime is going to be significant. IMW is going no where so no worries about it.

Thanks guys, I am sorry it happened. I was counting on them and I've been let down. Nothing I can do at this point but what I am doing. Appreciate you all being patient with it, I've always said the folks on this site are the best!

We were lucky to have a recent media file backup from the end of August. The amount of media files lost (music, videos etc.) will be minimal because of that.

We will probably lose a lot of artist images and pictures that were uploaded so some folks may have to go back and do that. All in all it could have been a lot worse.

To be quite frank about it the reason I went with this host to being with is because they "said" they kept one backup on the server and one offboard. Well guess what, no backup. It was a huge mistake for them, in fact they lost all of their backups across the board. We are talking hundreds of web sites not just IMW. They almost lost their entire network.

wow...i guess they have their tail between there legs now...do what ya say...say what ya mean...comes with price when neither was in place...hey, no worries...time for a photo upgrade anyways, mistakes ya say?...mistakes we are....all is good.

Okay we are down to around 7000 files to upload, they are uploading. I've just started another 30,000 file upload which contain many of the profile pictures and photos people have uploaded. This is where we have lost some files. Artist and Listener profile pictures.

I've identified the artists and listeners that we will not have pictures for and will be sending them an email directly to make sure they get it. Hopefully these folks will come to the site and upload their photo(s) again.

The best I can figure it looks like we lost 3 songs on the site. Not too bad when you consider how many are here. We were very lucky, our host wasn't as lucky.

I'll be sending out a newsletter in the morning. I am hopeful to have things going again by tomorrow. Thanks for hanging in there everyone.

Geeeeez, you lost 3 songs? I mean, YOU ONLY LOST 3 Songs? Man, that's a Herculenean effort on your part, Walt! Good thing we're not paying you by the hour.

It looks like the worst part is over with. Now to get folks to re-upload their photos and profile images. Thanks for hanging in there.

Just an FYI; looks like some of the artist page custom formatting was restored to a much older version. No biggie, having the page there at all is somewhat miraculous. Just don't look at mine for a while, it's ugly. I won't have time to go back and rebuild it until we get my Mother-In-Law settled into her new facillity.
