It's very nice that you can make music together with your son! A very nice piece to listen to. I enjoyed the bass line and the sax playing and of course your wonderful way to play the guitar. Hi Melissa, wonderful personal expression on this piano ballad with country influence. Seems that the bass range is very much reduced... don't be shy to allow the full power of music and voice. Anyway, a true indie classic this is!

For me - this song has a touch of Sade. Definitely exciting change of style, Jasmin and Ed, proving your fine musicianship in so many genres. Piano corresponds beautifully with your breathy voice, Jas, and there are impressive twists of groove and harmony colors making a masterpiece of hard work. The recording and production is just reference here...

Hi Carlo, it was`nt until I saw Tealish`s comment on the front page that I realised we`d used the same piece of Michaels music to place our adds on...I thought it was such a cool thing of Michael to do...Love your version here, the flutes and "choir" sounds that you`ve added are beautiful..Is`nt it amazing how we can create such different versions from the same bedtrack...That`s happened a few times with Ratman beats..:-) Hugely enjoyed this one from you and am downloading and adding to favs..:-)

Classical... songs about freedom. Wonderful choice of airy music, Mags, - a fine acoustic tune with your emotional depth. Master arrangement by Michael, hard to get the right attention today when DJs believe that songs need simple structures and the effects will do the rest.

I like the "fever" bassline to start.. margot siad i'd like this one as she knows i like progressive stuff.. this is certainly a cornicopia of sounds and textures.. some carnival in it.. campy.. zappa.. i get that comment alot doc but i think it really applies to this tune more than mine.. dig your various vocal obligatos and the lead voice with that nasel quality is too good.. it's very jazzy in phrasing so it really keeps the connection back to your fever bassline.. yep i dig this man.. kinky and quirky but with a serious message.. my kinda music.. :-)

Up Close and Personal With Halo Denied

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 don't miss the continued Up Close and Personal series with Halo Denied.

Dave Cook will be conducting this interview during his radio show and will feature all the members from this great band!

Make sure to stop into Dave's show or listen to the broadcast in order to catch this interview and of course Halo Denied's music will be featured during the interview.

We will be sending out a reminder the day of the show.

Microphone Give Away

For those of you who may have missed the microphone give away. Prior to the site birthday on Sunday, February 28, 2010 we were playing snippets of tracks from the site.

Who ever correctly named the artist and track would win that round. There were several rounds prior to announcing the winner.

The microphone was a Shure SM57 and was won by Scott Cortese. Congratulations Scott! Hope you enjoy your new microphone!

Indie Music Works will be giving away other things during the year so stay tuned. We will post any information about this on the site or in the newsletters that are sent out.

IMW Birthday Remembered

Sunday, February 28 was a great day of music and celebration on the site. The all day radio shows were kicked off by Syntopia at 10:00 AM EST and DJ's did live shows all day long. Dave Cook finished off the show at around 10:00 PM EST.

Folks from the site were in and out of the chat room all day long and we saw quite a few new people stop into the chat room during the all day event.
